Pneumatically actuated ball valves FB39 PURPOSE AND SPHERE OF APPLICATION Pneumatically actuated ball valves FB39 are intended to be fitted as automated devices in the process lines chemical and oil-refining plants, at pulp-and-paper milks and other production facilities using fluid, gaseous as well as corrosive working media. Standard industrial and explosion-proof versions are available. Distinctive features of these valves are reliability and mean time to failure. | VALVE DESIGN The valve consists of the following principal components: the body (1), the caps (2), the ball (3), and the stem (4). The valve body (1) and the ball (3) are sealed with ball seats (5) and joint gaskets (7) compressed by the bolting of the caps by stud bolts (12). The stem (5) is sealed with stem packing (8) and stem seal (9). The pneumatic actuator consists of the housing and two pistons, which are seated at the ends of the rack. The ratchet latch planted on the shaft meshes with the rack. When supplying compressed air into the actuator housing the pistons turn the ratchet latch and the shaft. The torque passes on the stem by the adaptor, and the latter turns the ball. The top of the pneumatic actuator accommodates the electro pneumatic regulator. The valve can be mounted on the pipeline in any attitude position required.
